Dear list members,

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Cairo, Egypt is issuing a request for expression of interest in order to invite talented researchers to submit innovative research proposals which aim to examine different aspects of complex migration flows along the North-Eastern African Migratory Route and in North Africa.

IOM's MENA Regional Office has recently established the inter-agency Migration Coordination Task Force for the North-Eastern African Migratory Route and North Africa (MTF-NOAH). Migrants transiting along these routes often experience considerable abuse and exploitation. The inter-agency Task Force advocates for and helps to facilitate a coherent and regionally coordinated migration management response to the increasingly complex migration flows along these routes.

One of the core areas of MTF-NOAH's work is the development of the knowledge base on complex migration flows in the region and the multifarious relationships they have with the socio-economic and political context within which they are situated, in places of transit, origin and destination.

Please find the call for papers here: http://www.egypt.iom.int/Doc/Research%20Proposals.pdf

Please send proposals by the 11th April.

Interested candidates are expected to send an abstract of their proposal (350 words maximum), a brief description of the methodology suggested along with their Curriculum Vitae

Remuneration is competitive and will be commensurate with the scope of the work proposed and experience of the researcher.

Thank you and all the best,

Harry.
