Indirect (ITC) and mixed treatment comparisons (MTC) are statistical techniques used to synthesise available direct and indirect evidence, to provide information on the comparative effectiveness of a range of competing interventions. Deciding on the suitability of conducting these analyses and undertaking them require a range of specialist skills, and they benefit significantly from appropriate scoping and advanced planning. This training course provides an introduction to ITC and MTC for project managers, research commissioners and others new to these techniques, who are seeking a better understanding of how to plan, commission and assess such comparisons.
