Subject: Dagger/knife identification

Dear all

Can anyone help to identify the attached object. It was brought in to the Cookworthy Museum:

.       Knife with a plaited reed type material handle with a carved wooden head on the top. It was brought in by a local man who would like some information about where it’s from and how old it is. I offered to  help with identification before returning it to him.

It measures 335 mm in length of knife in the sheaf.

Width of the sheaf  47mm.

Handle 115mm length

Knife measures 290mm length

Blade measures 185mm

Many thanks,

Rachel
