Dear All

I have been asked to develop a course curriculum in basic geotechnical engineering for Construction and Building inspectors in our country. It has been noted that failure of foundations and wrong classification of the soils are some of the major risk areas to the Building Regulatory Council warranty fund here. The course is supposed to be pitched at just below bachelor's level for inspectors who, among many other responsibilities, check excavations, foundations, cuts, fills, slopes, earthworks, etc.. to ensure that all construction undertaken meets required building standards, zoning regulations, and contract specifications.

I, therefore, kindly seek you advise on:

1. Appropriate course content, and
2. Suitable literature to reference.

I am would be grateful to look at any relevant notes and ppt slides (which will definitely be acknowledged accordingly)

Much appreciated as always
