Performing Place #2:  
Saturday 14th June at Chichester University, Bishop Otter Campus, Chichester. 9.15am – 5.30pm. 

The Dance and Theatre Departments at the University of Chichester invite researchers, practitioners, artists and post-graduate researchers to Performing Place #2, a 1 day symposium that will explore, celebrate, problematize and articulate notions of experiencing, encountering and 'performing' place through creative arts inquiry.

The symposium will include installation and performance work, academic paper presentations, informal discussions and opportunities to engage in dialogue with colleagues interested in exploring practices and processes of experiencing and 'performing' place, and associated notions of (amongst others) site-specificity, embodiment, mobility, location, space, place and performativity.
The symposium aims to stimulate a sharing of knowledge and ideas in an informal, playful and participatory manner.

Derek McCormack (Oxford) on Atmospheric Things
Jonathan Skinner (Roehampton) Dance Choreography and the Performance of Political Tourism
Bill Psarras (Goldsmiths) Performative Flâneur: "Orchestrating" senses, situations and data in the city
Melanie Kloetzel (Calgary): Site Dance (tbc)

Performing Place #2 will take place on Saturday 14th June from 9.15am-5.30pm at University Of Chichester, Bishop Otter Campus, College Lane, Chichester, West Sussex. The cost of attending Performing Place #2 is £20 standard & £10 student /concession– price includes sandwich lunch and refreshments on the day.
