The School of Social Sciences and Philosophy is seeking to appoint an Assistant Professor in Chinese Studies, to commence on 1st September 2014. Applications are welcome from the subfields of either comparative politics or international relations. This position arises in conjunction with the establishment of a new M.Phil in Chinese Studies and a multidisciplinary taught Master’s programme within the Trinity Centre for Asian Studies.
We are particularly interested in a candidate who has conducted field research in the region, and who teaches and works on issues related to Chinese domestic politics, Chinese political economy and/or Chinese foreign and security policy.
The successful candidate will be based in the Department of Political Science and affiliated with the Trinity Centre for Asian Studies. The Department encourages applications from candidates who could, additionally, offer a course in quantitative or research methods. The post holder will be expected teach a range of modules at postgraduate level in the new M.Phil in Chinese Studies as well as some undergraduate modules
