TOPIC: Post-doctoral Scholar in Modern Chinese Literature and Film

The School of lnternational Letters & Cultures (SILC) at Arizona State University (Tempe campus) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar in Modern Chinese Literature and Film, beginning August 16, 2014.  The successful candidate will be expected to teach and continue his/her research.  This is an annual appointment with the possibility of renewal.  Initial teaching load will be two classes in the fall and two classes in the spring.

Minimum qualifications include: 1) a PhD in Chinese literature or related field 2) near-native proficiency in Chinese and English, and 3) the ability to offer modern and contemporary Chinese literature, film, and cultural history courses.

Desired qualifications include: 1) record of research and published scholarship on Chinese literature or film; 2) demonstrated effectiveness in college-level teaching and 3) demonstrated experience teaching content courses in Chinese as well as in English.
