Cataloguer, India Office Medical Archives Salary range is £25,076 - £28,549 per annum Full time Fixed Term Contract for 15 months British Library London, St Pancras With responsibility for delivering the catalogue data for medical archives in the India Office Records at the British Library, you will create and enhance records in the Library’s on-line cataloguing system for around 1400 archives. You will research additional medical sources in the Records and India Office Private Papers and will catalogue these to an appropriate level. In addition, through social media and public presentations, you will play a key part in raising the profile of the India Office Records as a source for the history of medicine. In the role, you will work independently within the India Office Records section, under a curator’s supervision. With experience of cataloguing nineteenth-century archives, and with a thorough knowledge of the cataloguing standards ISAD(G) and ISAAR (CPF), you will be resourceful, flexible, and well organised. You will have the highest standards of accuracy and attention to detail, and a real ability to describe complicated material concisely and clearly. You will have excellent communication skills and will be keen to explore creative ways of promoting these wide-ranging collections.
