Job Title: Manager, Clinical Programming

The right candidate manages site level clinical programming operations. Manages support staff's operational deliveries and timeline adherence.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES


  *   Responsible for direct line management of departmental managers and non-management staff. This includes professional development, performance, and managing junior and management staff.  Review work of all direct reports. Resolves conflicts/priorities. Advises on administrative policies and procedures, technical problems, priorities, and methods.
  *   Develops training materials and delivers these trainings to Clinical Programming department.
  *   Attends bid defenses, project review, and departmental review meetings.
  *   Ensures high quality deliverables at site-level by providing senior review of core.

*         Prepares activity, resource, and progress reports regarding the clinical programming group for upper management review.

*         Oversees the development of project specific software applications

*         Utilizes primary development tools including Oracle RDC, Oracle Inform, Medidata Rave, SAS, and other supporting tools.

*         Ensures project timelines and scope of work are achieved as on-time, high quality deliveries.

  *   Maintains project-level targets at a profitable level.

*         Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

*         Travel may be required for sales presentations and to address project-specific needs; however, this will not be a significant part of the position.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS


*         BS/BA degree in computer science or related field, and nominal experience, particularly in clinical programming and relational database development, or equivalent education and experience.

*         Clinical Data Management experience, programming proficiency in Electronic Data Capture (EDC) and data reporting, and/or transformation languages, e.g., PL/SQL, SAS, C#, or comparable field.

*         Familiarity with medical terminology, clinical data, and Good Clinical Practices preferred.  CRO industry experience preferred.

*         Strong organizational, presentation, documentation, and interpersonal skills as well as a team-oriented approach with significant management experience.

*         Demonstrated experience in managing multiple priorities in a highly dynamic environment.

*          Demonstrated experience in leadership within a matrix team environment.

*         Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
