Dear Allstatters,

Following some excellent feedback last year, the Professional Statisticians forum will be holding another session on Statistical Consultancy on Monday 2nd June 2014 starting at 2pm and finishing at 5pm.  The venue will be the RSS at Errol St in London.

The title of the session is “Making a success of statistical consultancy” and the meeting will be run as a workshop to discuss how to succeed and how to avoid pitfalls in setting up and running a statistical consultancy business.  It will start with 3 brief presentations by the following speakers in order to promote discussion.

1.       Ali Jones, OmniStatistics Ltd
Experience of setting up an independent statistical consultancy

2.       Martin Gibson, AQUIST Consulting
Hints and tips on setting up a consultancy business

3.       Nigel Marriott, Marriott Statistical Consulting Ltd
How to find your clients and help them find you

The workshop is intended primarily as a discussion forum for statisticians who have either set up a statistical consultancy, or are contemplating doing so, to share experiences and gather ideas.

There is no charge for this meeting for holders of the CStat and GradStat awards of the Society.  For RSS fellows the charge will be £25; for others £45. Numbers will be limited, so it will be necessary to pre-register by e-mailing to [log in to unmask]
