This post is designed to support and further develop the programme of applied and methodological research within the Research Institute for Primary Care and Health Sciences. You will work in partnership with senior research staff to grow, develop and deliver internationally excellent research on the course, prognosis and management of long term conditions in primary care, drawing on our current strengths in pain and arthritis, common mental health conditions and co-morbidities. You will provide leadership to an established team of statisticians (3 Readers/Senior Lecturers and 7 Research Associates) to develop the portfolio of research in medical statistics, with opportunities to strengthen and innovate the design and analysis of observational studies and clinical trials. You will provide leadership to our team of statisticians, ensuring top quality statistical support across research projects and programmes.
You will have a PhD in medical or applied statistics, or a related area relevant to epidemiology and clinical trials, and have extensive experience of working as a statistician in applied health research, with evidence of leadership and strong national reputation in medical statistics, and an outstanding publication track record in the field of medical statistics, epidemiology, or clinical trials.
