THE UNIVERSITY OF SHEFFIELD School of Health and Related Research (ScHARR) Job Title: Research Associate in Health Economics and Decision Modelling Ref: UOS008120 Contract Type: Fixed term for 2 years Faculty: Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Department: Health Economics and Decision Science School of Health and Related Research (ScHARR) Salary for grade 7: £28,972 to £36,661per annum Closing Date: 1 April 2014 Summary: You will work within the Health Economics and Decision Science (HEDS) Section of ScHARR, undertaking health economics and decision modelling research on a range of applied policy and methodological research funded through the Department of Health's Policy Research Unit in Economic Evaluation of Health Care Interventions (EEPRU) (eepru.org.uk), or for the Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research (CLAHRC) programme for Yorkshire and the Humber (http://clahrc-sy.nihr.ac.uk/). Specific approaches used, as part of these projects, include decision analytic modelling (e.g. Markov and discrete event simulations), econometrics and policy analysis. You will work with senior staff to design evaluations, develop methodological work, undertake cost-effectiveness analyses and disseminate findings in peer-reviewed journals. You will be encouraged to develop your own methodological research interests that are complementary to those within HEDS and contribute to Masters-level teaching and supervision. A Masters degree or equivalent in a numerate subject, e.g. health economics, operational research, statistics, mathematics or economics is essential for this post. A PhD in a related subject is desirable.
