Head of Research and Training Development/King's College London  GRGS151214AM

The Head of Researcher Training and Development is responsible for the strategic direction of training and development for the College’s 2600 PhD and 1500 Post Doctoral researchers, through national programmes such as Doctoral Training Centres and the College’s Researcher Development Programme and will also provide support and training for doctoral supervisors.  This is a College-level role with a remit that requires the formulation of a strategic plan which contributes to the College’s target growth of postgraduate research students, the satisfaction of those students and the enhancement of the College’s reputation as a world-class research intensive university.  

The post requires the direct line management of a team and a large portfolio of training and development activities and initiatives.  The post-holder will also have direct operational management responsibility for the College’s Doctoral Training Centres which are of significant importance to the College, and manages an associated annual budget of around £600,000. The role will require working closely with the Director of the Graduate School, working with colleagues in the Graduate School and in the Research and Graduate School Support office.

The appointment will be made, dependent on relevant qualifications, within the Grade 8 scale, currently £47,787 to £55,375, per annum plus £2,323 per annum London Allowance. Indefinite contract.
