Temporary Office Support Assistant: International Migration Institute

20 hours a week to start ASAP until 31st May 2014
£10.63 per hour

The International Migration Institute (IMI) is committed to developing a long-term and forward-looking perspective on international migration as part of global change. 

The role
We are currently seeking a temporary Office Support Assistant to help support our busy Administrative team. The post will run until 31st May 2014 initially and will be based at the Department of International Development.  The role is office based and we are keen for the person to start as soon as possible.

Key duties will include: Making travel bookings for conference delegates and IMI team members; Compiling and checking detailed delegate lists and liaising with venues and caterers; general office support for team, such as organising meetings, compiling expense claims for checking by the Administrative Assistant, and any other duties which may be required by the Administrative Assistant.
The post-holder will need to be organised in their approach to work, be able to pick things up quickly, be confident in working independently, be able to work to tight deadlines, and demonstrate accuracy and good attention to detail. S/he will need to be experienced and confident in working in Excel, and have good writing skills. Experience of working in a higher education institution or similar environment would be useful.
