Though they may threaten you with court and costs, no court should ever order costs against you unless you have been supplied with sufficient reason to support your decision and your refusal was one which no reasonable data controller should have made.

And yes it always annoyed me when organisations made half-baked s29 requests when they actually had statutory powers and could make a demand which would come under s35. Even the police in an appropriate case could invoke their PACE Act powers.
