There is some confusion here. The number 4.2.1 after slash above
doesn't mean that you should set CC=gcc-4.2.1. You wrote previously
that you have installed Apple Clang compiler and setting CC=gcc-4.2.1
gives you error that such a compiler cannot be run. Check how to invoke
you compiler, $CC must be a command.

As Harry wrote you, you don't need to build ipmosflm, binaries are
available.
