We’d have been delighted to tell everyone about it through our website, newsletter and Twitter, etc, but not when there’s only three days to go unfortunately.

Cheers,

Aidan.

We may be interested , but it’s not possible to give this the consideration it requires within a 2 day turnaround time .

Why such tight deadlines ?

Subject: Help wanted with user testing assistive technology in UK

Please see below for a useful piece of information from one of the SBRI (Small Business Research Initiative) winners  who are  wishing to  contract with a UK based organisation to help deliver their project.

If you can help get this information further into your networks that would be fantastic.

Call for tenders

Fundosa Technosite S.A. has been awarded funding by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and the Technology Strategy Board. The funding will support the development of VirtuAssist – a wearable assistive technology for people with learning difficulties or memory problems.

Through smart-glasses, the system will recognise the equipment in front of the user (e.g. a printer) and provide operating instructions. A set of pre-recorded tasks will guide the user through each step. The idea is to reduce the amount of supervision and support needed for these individuals, increase their employability and decrease employer overheads.

VirtuAssist is one of the Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI) ‘Good to Go’ projects managed by Jisc TechDis, a leading UK advisory service on technologies for inclusion.

As Technosite is based in Spain, they are looking to subcontract a UK-based organisation to assist with user testing for informing product development. Attached you will find a full tender specification and sample contract. Please do circulate this call as appropriate.

DEADLINE EXTENDED

The original call was circulated during the half term break so the deadline for tenders has been extended until close of play on 13 March  2014.

Please note  - The project initiation meeting is scheduled for 19 March 2014.

Regards

Sal
