Highest we had last two years was 795.000 µg/L x 0.86 = 683.700 IU/L

No high dose hook was seen on E170

Dear Roche users (apologies to everyone else),

Has anyone got any validation data for the Roche/Cobas AFP assay regarding its performance above 50,000kU/L which they would not mind sharing? The kit insert says to report anything over that as >50,000 but also says that no high dose hook was noted with concentrations up to 1,000,000kU/L. I am trying to find out high we can confidently go on this assay but it takes a long time to collect samples of this high concentration. We are using the Roche modular E170, so any data from that specific analyser would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

Simon Salter
