Dear SPMers,

in 10% of our participants we have poor coregistration results. See picture attached.

It seems as if the brain is not aligned to the scull but the scalp. So we came up with the idea whether non-brain tissue extraction before doing the coregistration would probably solve our problem.

Is non-brain tissue extraction probably already included in one of the preprocessing algorithm implemented in SPM 8? Do you think it is advisable to do brain extraction before?
