This post is an opportunity for a candidate with an outstanding reputation for research and academic leadership in the field of digital and social media. We are now seeking to appoint a senior member of staff to develop a range of new research and teaching activities that explore contemporary developments in digital and social media and journalism. She/he will be expected to lead and develop this work within the department’s thriving academic and professional practice journalism programmes. The successful candidate will have an established national and international reputation in their field, an exceptional publications portfolio and a strong track record of attracting external research funding.

MeCCSA is the subject association for the field of media, communication and cultural studies in UK Higher Education. Membership is open to all who teach and research these subjects in HE institutions, via either institutional or individual membership. The field includes film and TV production, journalism, radio, photography, creative writing, publishing, interactive media and the web; and it includes higher education for media practice as well as for media studies.
