Permanent Positions							           
Full Time (37 hours week)  
Salary: TBA – depending on role and experience

Due to the growth of UKMap, the large scale mapping suite, The GeoInformation Group is looking to expand its team. We are seeking to recruit project staff to work alongside the existing UKMap team, helping to maintain the databases, providing support to the management team and offering technical solutions where necessary.

Multiple posts are currently available, including permanent office-based positions as well as data collection/ verification survey roles that are principally field-based.

For the office-based positions within the UKMap team, candidates should have a reasonable level of GIS knowledge, in both practical terms and fundamentals; a working knowledge ArcMap is essential. Some experience of using FME is desirable.  

For the survey roles, candidates must be spatially aware and confident in navigating using topographic maps. These roles, which report to the existing fieldwork co-ordinator, require a combination of team and independent working.

Job Purpose: 
The office-based positions are designed to strengthen the existing team, principally ensuring the currency of the of the current UKMap product is maintained. The work will involve identification of change against recent high resolution aerial surveys through to entity and attribution changes where required.
The survey roles are principally to identify changes in area such as retail high streets, and to collect address and point of interest information for changes made to the database by the office based team

Desirable Skills, Knowledge & Experience: 
•	Degree qualified, preferably in a geography/GIS discipline.
•	Strong IT Skills – using databases from an end-user and production perspective.
•	Strong GIS Skills – experience with ESRI, MapInfo, and FME.
•	Knowledge or experience of using and interpreting aerial imagery.
•	Ability to work co-operatively, as part of a team.
•	Good people skills, a positive attitude and the ability to listen and provide feedback.
•	Keen and self-motivated
•	Methodical, neat, fast and accurate worker.
