*With apologies for cross-posting* New MSc by Research 'Gender and Culture' at the University of Edinburgh This MScR degree programme enables students to develop their interests in gender representation in relation to a range of cultural contexts and research fields. The study of gender in cultural texts and processes encompasses a dynamic diversity of literary, language and film contexts and critical fields of enquiry. This programme provides students with the opportunity to focus intensively on the construction of gender and sexuality in texts from an exceptional range of historical periods and locations, and encourages critical engagement with approaches emerging from fields of enquiry including feminism, queer theory, critical theory and postcolonialism. Students will be referred to a principal supervisor according to their particular interests and dissertation proposal.
