Eastern ARC Research Fellowship in Quantitative Social Science

The University of Kent is seeking an Eastern ARC (EARC) Research Fellow in the area of Quantitative Social Sciences (QSS).

Kent’s EARC QSS Fellow will be appointed from 1 August 2014 at Grade 7 (£32,590 to £36,661), initially for a period of five years during which time s/he will be supported to gain his/her own external funding. If successful, the Fellow will be considered for a permanent lectureship after five years.

The Fellow will act as the focus and catalyst for interdisciplinary research within Kent and will facilitate interaction with the other Eastern ARC partners. The University is not being prescriptive as to the focus of research for the Fellow; instead, the applicant will be asked to submit a research proposal that fits within one of three broad areas, with a plan to form collaboration across the three universities. The areas are: Inequality, Conflict, and Migration; Lifespan, Lifestyle, and Decision-making; and Environment, Energy, and Security.

In addition, the Fellow will work with Kent’s Eastern ARC Thematic Lead, Dr Heejung Chung, to identify PhD projects for two Eastern ARC Students.
