APPEAL FOR SOLIDARITY WITH OFFICE FACILITIES Dear Friends and comrades, The Independent Workers Union (IWGB) has been engaged in an array of exciting organising initiatives and campaigns amongst vulnerable, mainly migrant workers in London. Our recent success at the Royal Opera House won the support of many. Unfortunately IWGB has to move from our current premises in Clapham Common by 1st March 2014. We desperately need a base to organise from, conduct case work etc. IWGB is a very poor union, our resource is our members. Until recently comrades of RMT have kindly been able to assist us for some time with free office space. Other unions have helped us with resources. Our main core of our organising areas is City of London, Central London and Canary Wharf I am writing to ask if you or any friends are in a position to assist IWGB with space we can use as our office, as a base for organising from. Our needs are modest. A space for 2 or 3 desks, our computers etc. Finding premises urgently will be a great assistance to our organising. All assistance is most welcome. We are very happy to work on all options. Please help as best you can. Yours in solidarity Chris http://leap-lrc.blogspot.co.uk/2014/02/winning-living-wage-at-royal-opera-ho use.html
