An opportunity has arisen to develop a statistics team for the statistical and methodological design and analysis of an exciting and innovative early phase trials portfolio on behalf of the Department of Oncology, working in collaboration with the registered Oxford Clinical Trials Research Unit and in partnership with the Centre for Statistics in Medicine.

The senior position is for an experienced Medical Statistician who will be expected to become an outstanding academic leader in the field.  This an opportunity for a suitably experienced and highly motivated statistician to develop a research career in an environment where there is a thriving collection of statisticians, scientists, clinical scientists and clinicians engaged in this area of research.  A second post is available for a Medical Statistician with experience in Clinical trials who is interested in gaining expertise in early phase trials.

The post holders will be expected to provide statistical expertise to the early phase trials portfolio within the Department of Oncology. This will include working with investigators to plan the design of the research studies, overseeing all statistical and methodological issues associated with the development of the protocol, the conduct of the trial and the analysis of results and publication of the studies.

You will have a first degree or an MSc in statistics (preferably medical statistics) and a higher degree, preferably D Phil or equivalent with a large statistical content.  You will also need to be fluent in all aspects of study design and analysis and awareness of the latest statistical issues and techniques with demonstrable experience of clinical trial related statistical work.

These are full-time posts and are offered until 31 March 2017 in the first instance.
