Role Requirements

As Deputy Director and a principal member of the senior team, your role will be essentially to lead and contribute strongly to the development of highest quality HR practices and services to QM, and to lead, improve and develop the strategic and services team. Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

1.     Deputy to Director of Human Resources in all functions

2.     Full member of senior HR team

3.     Contributes to and often leads on the development of all HR strategic expertise and services, functions, plans and performance against standards

4.     Fully responsible for the leadership, management, development, discipline and performance of the Strategy and Services Team, including planning, workload management, budgeting, and other resource management

5.     Oversees the HR strategic plan and personally acts as lead on PSPAR, HR risk management and budgetary planning and monitoring

6.     Lead, commission and participate in HR and corporate projects

7.     Represent HR in both internal activities and to external stakeholders

8.     Represents QML to external bodies as and when required, but especially within area of Strategy and Services

9.     Primary contact for QMSE leaders on all HR Strategy matters

10.   Fully accountable for reporting on Strategy and Services performance against key performance indicators

11.   Primary and lead negotiator on externally and collaboratively provided HR services

12.   Other leadership and specialist duties as may be required from time to time

You need to have

·         First rate HR knowledge, with the ability and willingness to to keep up to date with developments in best practice.

·         Senior level specialist experience in one or more of the following areas: HR Strategy, Employee Relations, Reward, Organisational Development, Policy and Procedure, Employment Law.

·         First rate demonstrable planning, leadership and management skills

·         Ability to lead teams in areas where you are not a specialist

·         Project and programme management skills

·         High level of demonstrable skills in collaborative working across HR, professional services and supported functions

·         Demonstrable high quality influencing and persuasion skills with internal and external stakeholders at senior levels

·         High quality communication skills

Salary is negotiable. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, interest free season ticket and defined benefit pension scheme.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
