Hi Mark,

considering that you also have a normalized structural for each subject, you can use SPM's imcalc function (you will find it on the GUI) to average the structural images.
in the field where you declare the operation to calculate you would then enter:
(i1+i2+i2)./3

Hope this helps

Hi,

I think this may be basic but I need some experts to confirm the method. I have a group of subjects and I want to overlay fMRI activation maps on structural image for display purpose.

(1) I think overlaying activation maps on the average structural image over all subjects should be the most standard way. My fMRI activation maps have been normalized to standard template. Can anyone tell me the details how to create an average structural image from all subjects' T1 images?

(2) Can I just overlay activation maps on avg152T1.nii or single_subj_T1.nii in spm8 canonical folder?

Thanks. Mark
