New UK high-speed rail to require 6,000 sacrificial goats Since 1849, two archival copies of every U.K. bill have been printed on sheets of high-quality vellum. One is sent to Victoria Tower, while the other goes to the Kew National Archives. Vellum lasts a long time, far longer than archival paper, and with the expectation that the U.K. will live on for thousands of years it remains the storage media of choice. http://bit.ly/1irxDmI Source: http://observationdeck.io9.com/new-uk-high-speed-rail-to-require-6-000-sacrificial-goa-1495910833 See if people are clicking on this link: http://bit.ly/1irxDmI+ Try the bitly.com sidebar to see who is talking about a page on the web: http://bitly.com/pages/sidebar -- Peter Kurilecz CRM CA IGP [log in to unmask] Dallas, Texas Save our in-boxes! http://emailcharter.org http://twitter.com/RAINbyte http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/RAINbyte/ http://paper.li/RAINbyte/rainbyte http://pinterest.com/pakurilecz/archives/ http://pinterest.com/pakurilecz/records-management/ http://www.linkedin.com/in/peterakurilecz Information not relevant for my reply has been deleted to reduce the electronic footprint and to save the sanity of digest subscribers To view the list archives go to: https://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/cgi-bin/webadmin?A0=RECORDS-MANAGEMENT-UK To unsubscribe from this list, send an email to [log in to unmask] with the words UNSUBSCRIBE RECORDS-MANAGEMENT-UK For any technical queries re JISC please email [log in to unmask] For any content based queries, please email [log in to unmask]
