Margaret,

Thank you for these resources that I have passed on to scholars working in US, UGANDA, And at OCMS, Oxford.
They will be helpful to our students commencing AR doctoral studies at the Oxford Centre for Mission Studies.

Thank you for the generous spirit of 2014!

Best wishes

Brian

Margaret, this looks like a great start on a very useful tutorial. I’ll share it with folks in the NWP with particular interest in action research.

Thanks all of the comments, Lesley I will follow up with you directly about the problems you are having.  Susan it would be great to have ALARA promote it.  I waited until I was halfway to share it because I did not want to promise something and then finish it.  But I am committed now that  number of groups are using it.  I just need to catch up.  I am about one or two tutorials behind where I wanted to be by now. And I am adding this discussion group to the first tutorial resources.  If you have ideas for the resources, please feel free to share them with me.  You can see that I am working on the site continuously.  And I am learning a bit about making videos... there is much work in a 10 min video than I would have expected.  But I am getting better with each one.  Feedback on any aspect will be greatly appreciated as I move forward.  I have a different idea for the next one that I am working on now.

Outstanding Margaret - so overdue and so timely. We are doing an experiential conference this year with ALARA - would love to promote this with our marketing.

Hi all,

I have been working on creating a free online action research self-pacing course (or resource for an online course).  It is taking me longer than I hoped, but I have 5 modules complete and would love to hear any feedback as I push forward for the next set.  I have just finished the planning process. The first 5 tutorials can be see at:

http://ccar.wikispaces.com/AR+Tutorial

I list the tentative plan for the rest but this might change as I work through the process.  I would value any feedback you thave.  Each tutorial as a video, a set of activities and a set of resources to help do the activities.

The playlist of all of the videos can be accessed on youtube.

Tutorials
1. Overview of Action Research
2. Understanding Action Research
3. Finding your Action Research Question/Challenge
4. The Action Research Context
5. Planning you Actions
6. Cycles -- an Iterative Process
7. Collecting Evidence
8. Analyzing Evidence
9. Reflecting on your Actions
10. Cycles of change
11. Writing your Action Research Report
12. Sharing your research with others
13. Your identity as an Action Researcher
