Hi Jo

I agree with all that has been written but it might be rather simpler.  Keyboards and phones are great harbours of bugs, particularly in a modern office where there is a tendency for many to eat at their desks.  It’s even worse when there is hot desking and non-specific minor infections can proliferate.   It may be worth issuing everyone with antiseptic wipes to clean their phones, keyboards, mice etc.  I have known this work in the past and one of my clients drops a wipe on everyone’s desk about every 3 months.   Worth a try and relatively cheap.

Subject: [OCC-HEALTH] Office environment and sore eyes

Good Morning List,

Can I pick your brains please….

I have had two referral for employee’s working in an open plan basement office.

One wears contact lenses the other doesn’t.

Both have been medically informed that it’s likely to be the office environment that’s causing eye irritation, redness and soreness.

One (who wears contact lenses) has had conjunctivitis which cleared up over the Christmas break and has now reoccurred on their return.

I’ve advised regular breaks away from the environment, regular hydration etc etc but this hasn’t helped.

Any ideas please?

Best wishes

Jo
