University of West London College of Nursing and Midwifery External Examiner Vacancy: MSc Advancing Practice (Midwifery) MSc Professional Practice (Midwifery) The University is looking to appoint an External Examiner to support the MSc Advancing Practice (Midwifery) and the MSc Professional Practice (Midwifery) course. The MSc courses are offered with a blended learning approach, with face to face teaching, independent study and distance learning; therefore experience of these types of delivery is desirable. Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced lecturers in Midwifery. All appointments are subject to the candidate meeting the University’s criteria for appointment. The appointment will commence from Sept 2014 and will be for a maximum of four years. Assessment boards are usually held at the University of West London Campus at Brentford. These flexible modular courses have been developed in close conjunction with NHS providers to meet the needs of midwives who wish to either achieve the MSc in Advancing Midwifery Practice or the MSc Professional Practice. Midwives are able to access a range of optional generic and specific midwifery modules to build their MSc in years one and two. Year three having compulsory modules in research and a dissertation module. The Role of External Examiner is to assure the quality of awards with respect to national standards.
