Often described as China’s own Spielberg, Xiaogang is a skilled storyteller with a varied body of work; films that range from heartfelt comedy (If You Are The One, Cell Phone) to historical epics (Assembly, Back to 1942, Aftershock). Also on offer is our ‘New Chinese Documentary Day’, which provides a fresh perspective on a vast nation and its everyday heroes.
