Hi Lucy,

No, the setup should just need to be done on the 3M machines. There are 2 settings (in the 3M Self-check admin app). One turns on the button which offers Email Receipt and the other option actually configures it for use. We didn’t realise this initially and just turned on the button but emails were never delivered. So then I checked with Innovative who said:

‘We don't control printing or emailing of date due receipts via SIP2 selfcheck. This is controlled by your SIP2 selfcheck machine vendor. We provide the email address via SIP2  in the 64 Patron Information Response and then the SIP2 device is responsible for sending the email. I’ve checked our SIP2 message logs  and I can see that the email address is included’.

So got the 3M engineer in and that’s when the other configuration options were set. I think it was under Support tab – Email Sender (or something like that) – Save Notifications.

Our machines now offer users the choice of Print Receipt or Email Receipt.

Cheers,

Karen

Hi Karen,

Did you have to contact Innovative in order to enable receipts on your self-check machines? We’ve wanted to do this for a while so it’s good to hear that this might actually work now we’re on Sierra.

Thanks,

Lucy

Ah, that explains why we never did this previously! Karen

Thanks Karen, but the help desk informed me that Millennium was unable to, because it does not release the email, but that Sierra does -also confirmed by  the much more knowledgeable mailing list :)

Similar situation at Glasgow, and we are also planning to pay 3M to upgrade, although they are charging substantially more than the standard cost of a PC.

Jacob – we recently introduced emailing receipts from our 3M V-series. We’re running Sierra but I think the SIP2 is the same.

Regards,

Karen

3M V-series machines here with the same problem. As we have the full cabinet versions, and after investigating replacement options, I am choosing to simply pay 3M to upgrade the pc inside and move over to Windows 7. The 3M tech guy said a lot of people are doing so over the coming months.

Should improve the speed of the machine as well, so bonus for our users, but still no emailing of receipts due to Millennium's inability to do so through SIP2.

Hello all,

Our IT department has warned us that we won't be able to have any Windows XP machines on the network once Microsoft stops supporting XP. All our self-service machines (D-Tech and 3M) are currenlty running on XP.
Are other libraries having the same problem and if so, how are you tackling it?

Thanks
Claire
