I meant a sequence as in finds
found in 1817, 1935, 1964, 1974. Doesn’t get much more unsystematic J

But if
there's a sequence, does that not mean that they are not 'chance' finds? Surely

HERESY!
;)
But seriously, it makes sense
for some sites where there is a whole sequence of such chance finds. I haven’t
gone mad, honest!

Re: Non Archaeological Events
Do you
really need an event for a chance casual find? Surely you are just doubling your
workload?

Non Archaeological Events
Hi,
I’m in the process of amending and creating records for
chance surface finds. In the new English Heritage Event Thesaurus there is a
section under Intrusive Events for Non Archaeological Intervention, which
includes Casual Observation. For my records Casual Observation would fit the
bill perfectly if it wasn’t classified as an Intrusive Event. I can’t find an
equivalent in Non Intrusive Event. Am I missing something?
Best wishes
