Dear All,
“Engaging Early Years children in museums”: Tuesday 25th February , Leamington Museum & Art Gallery: £30 per delegate
How can you make your museum more appealing to, and age appropriate for, very young children?
This interactive day explores how young children learn in museums, particularly how they learn in family groups, and what that means for the activities we should
provide. The main focus will be on how to develop playful learning resources and activities that can be used in gallery spaces, whether those are staff facilitated or self-managed.
By the end of the day participants will
·
Understand more about how young children and families learn in museums and identify some implications of this for their organisation
·
Feel confident about how to develop relevant and age appropriate activities for their museum
• Have ideas for simple ways in which they can make their Museum or Gallery a more child and family friendly learning environment
The day will be facilitated by Jo Graham.
Jo’s experience in developing exhibitions, programmes, resources, learning environments, research programmes and evaluation studies on young children and museums is unparalleled. Jo
has been conducting bespoke training sessions on family audiences and Early Years in museums for over a decade. She prides herself on her training sessions being really useful and a lot of fun.
