Hi Peter,

I hope you are keeping well.

I would be more than happy to chat at length with you with regards to a number of Health on Wheels / cycling on prescription schemes that I have been involved with in recent years.

Many thanks

Ian

Hi,

What sort of research is it for ,Peter?  There must surely be many around the UK – but I suggest you need to “plug-in” to some of the health promotion/CCG/Local authority public health groups and streams.......

Subject: Cycling on Prescription

Hi

As part of a research project I'm looking into initiatives that link cycling and health. Is anyone in this group aware of a local cycling on prescription / referral scheme or a programme of rides for people with certain medical conditions.  I'm also interested in offers such as free or subsidised bikes, bike loan or Bikeability training for people with health-related needs.

For example, the charity Life Cycle in Bristol runs rides for older people, and for people with mental health issues, and they can provide recycled bikes for people who've been advised to take more physical activity.  I'm keen to know what happens elsewhere in the UK.

Any info (and ideally, contact details or web links) much appreciated!

Best regards
