Dear All (and with apologies for cross posting)

The School of Geographical Sciences, University of Bristol is currently looking for applications from PhD candidates for September 2014/15 entry. As part of the South West Doctoral Training Centre (SWDTC) we invite outstanding candidates to apply for ESRC studentships and/or University of Bristol Scholarships.  Applications can be made for 1+3 funding (potentially through the Geographical Sciences Society and Space MSc) or +3 funding for those candidates who already hold a masters level qualification.

The Human Geography staff at Bristol have a diverse range of research interests and are organized into 3 primary Research Groups:

·      Historical and Cultural

·      Global Political Economy

·      Spatial Modelling

Full details and affiliated staff details can be found here: http://www.bristol.ac.uk/geography/research/

Whilst applications  covering all aspects of human geography are welcome the SWDTC is particularly interested in PhD proposals that include collaboration either with external third sector bodies, other university departments or industry are particularly encouraged.

Applications must be made via the online system (see here: http://www.bris.ac.uk/prospectus/postgraduate/2014/dept/SSLF/GSCI). Prior to making an application, candidates are encouraged to contact potential supervisors or the Human Geography PG Admissions tutor ([log in to unmask]).

The deadline for applications is 5pm 14th February 2014.

Best wishes

David
