Hi all,

We are having issues downloading annotated assignments and printing them off with comments using inline grading on Blackboard.

Using Foxit reader, when the assignment is downloaded all comments are removed (this is before even attempting to print).

When using Acrobat reader, i can download the PDF with annotations successfully but when i attempt to print them they do not appear.

I have raised this issue with Blackboard support and this was their helpful response:

“I discussed this with our second level of support and as far as we concerned the annotations are visible when adobe reader is used however they cannot be printed due to the limitations of that products.

It is not possible for me to say how and we don't have a tool that will allow you to print the annotations. I have even tried in my testing  to use the built-in comment option in adobe reader itself and print the document.

Still i have not been able to print successfully created annotations in the pdf document. My recommendation is to contact either the vendors of the adobe reader or foxit reader so you can get further assistance.”

I have sent out emails to Adobe, Foxit and Crocodoc but nothing back yet.

Is anyone else experiencing this or am I missing something very obvious?

Regards
