Dear All

My SLT colleague and I are seeing a 14 year old boy who has Rapid Onset Dystonia Parkinsonism whose abilities are very variable. When he ‘goes down’ he uses a finger squeeze to indicate yes/no (someone’s finger placed inside his flexed fingers). I have tried a finger button switch with him, wrapped around some tubing, but this is too big for his hand. I’m guessing that if I bend the button switch to fit around something smaller, this is probably going to damage the switch. Does anyone know of anything smaller that I could use to make use of this grasp movement? A grasp-switch is also too big and requires too much pressure.

Many thanks

Polly
