Doctoral Fellowships in Archival Research
Fellowships for doctoral research on the palaeography, codicology, diplomatic and description of Jewish archives and manuscripts, including materials written in Jewish languages such as Yiddish, Ladino, Judeo-Arabic, etc.
The aim of the fellowship is to promote and develop understanding of Jewish archives and manuscripts, and the disciplines necessary to make them more accessible. Students based in European academic institutions are invited to apply for these fellowships. Applicants must demonstrate that their application has the support of the archive or library in which their research will take place and of their proposed academic supervisor. These fellowships are available for up to three years and are conditional on the applicant’s admission to a doctoral degree at an academic institution of excellence. Eligible costs include tuition, living expenses, research costs and costs associated with travel for research purposes, therefore grant amounts may vary according to the local costs of living, tuition fees and individual needs.
