About STOR-i

STOR-i, the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Statistics and Operational 

Research in partnership with Industry, is a pioneering 4 year PhD programme 

established in 2010. Using industrial challenge as the catalyst for mathematical 

innovation the Centre will develop future international research leaders. Industrial 

partners include AstraZeneca, BT, IBM, Shell and SSE.


For October 2014 entry we have fully-funded studentships available which include 

tuition and a tax-free enhanced maintenance grant of up to £15,726 (based on 2012-13 

figures, subject to meeting eligibility criteria). For those students working on  industrially 

related PhDs, this will increase to £18,726 equating to a competitive graduate salary. 


Our cohort-based PhD programme offers a new style of PhD training, which provides an

opportunity to: 

-       be part of an exciting new group of researchers;

-       co-operate and interact with like-minded peers;

-       work directly with leading industry partners;

-       open up real potential for rapid career progression;

-       make a real scientific and industrial impact with your research.
