JOB VACANCIES: Two Academic Practice Advisors and a Technology enhanced Learning Advisor at the University of Hull

 

These new and exciting roles are situated within the Curriculum Development and Teaching Enhancement (CDTE) Directorate at the University of Hull. The post holders will play a central part in meeting the University's learning and teaching strategic priorities, supporting the Heads of Teaching Development and Technology Enhanced Learning in delivering key elements of the University of Hull's ambitious three year curriculum reform programme (2013-2015). As a member of the CDTE team the post holders will work with a high degree of autonomy and develop close working relationships with stakeholders across the University. Experienced in supporting innovation and change, the successful candidates will develop and enhance innovations in campus-based and on-line learning and teaching. Candidates should have an excellent understanding of the current and emerging higher education context and national and international trends. The successful candidates will support on the design, coordination and delivery of professional development opportunities for staff.

 

Both Academic Practice Advisors will actively lead, support and facilitate learning and teaching developments across the University at the Faculty, programme and individual level. In addition, the Academic Practice Advisor (PCAP) will take particular responsibility as programme leader for the newly established Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice and Introduction to Learning and Teaching for PGR Students who Teach programme. The Academic Practice Advisor (CPDF) will take particular responsibility as programme leader for the newly established DARTE (Disciplinary Approaches to Research and Teaching Excellence) CPD framework.

 

The Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) Advisor will play an important role in supporting staff at the Faculty, programme and individual level in the use of technology to enhance teaching and student learning. The post holder will liaise between the central TEL team and a range of Faculty based groups. S/he will be expected to manage innovative TEL projects, support various academic staff development activities as well as work with other technical and support teams within the University to ensure coordination and integration of TEL projects with other relevant business processes and initiatives.
