When two get together,
there's yang and there's yin.
That's certainly the case
with Laurel and Jim.

Dad's a prac man
who fixes and fits.
Mum reads her fiction
when time permits.

Mum's keen on the footy,
loyal to the Tiges.
Dad tips against them
But that's no surprise.

Dad's scared of onions,
Mum likes hot spice.
Dad's meat and three veg
Mum's curry and rice.

Mum likes her film stars
From Brando to Newman.
Dad'd rather do the crossword
to make him feel human.

But for sixty years now,
they've been brooks that babble
Just don't come between them
when they settle to Scrabble.
