Some of the crosses look like pilgrim crosses to me,  ie crosses carved by pilgrims on route to shrines eg Walsingham.

At first glance, some of the 'graffiti' (but only some) looks like consecration crosses to me but others on this list will know much more than I do about that.

In the winter 2013 edition of the SPAB’s magazine there’s an article on graffiti on lead roofs.  Mostly post-medieval, but many have medieval connections

These were fascinating, but flicked past way too fast for studying, or even pausing. Does anyone have an alternative source of stills, or a way of slowing them down?

 

I have some Italian ones, including some rather jolly penis-men!
