Hi,

You need to bear in mind that smart phones a couple of years ago weren't
as popularly owned. People now are much more tech savvy when it comes to
smart phones, which may mean that they do know what to do with QR codes.

However, it depends who your target market is, the demographics of your
visitors, etc, to determine the success of QR codes themselves.

Hi Alun,

A couple of years ago we ran an experiment in Science Gallery where we
attached QR codes to each exhibit which led to a webpage that had
additional information about the piece and YouTube videos etc. However
the
takeup was really poor despite having free visitor WiFi throughout the
exhibition space, we're talking about less than 100 scans from 60,000 or
so
visitors, so it's not an experiment we're planning to repeat.

I suspect the issues with the uptake were exactly as Mike Ellis
suggested,
visitor have to know what to do with the code and have a scanning app
installed
