On perhaps a different level to some other replies...

Here at the Horniman, we have two staff dedicated to Digital - Digital Media Manager (me) and Digital Assistant (Vicky Pearce).

Digital is part of larger workloads of other staff including Documentation Manager and a team of several people who are working on collections, digitising as part of that project (and communicating too). Additionally, many staff contribute content and update our CMS - so while we have two defined roles, there is wider involvement.

Morning all

This is a really useful thread and I'm both reading with interest AND getting jealous at some of the resources at certain Museum's disposal :-)

I'm web manager here at the National Railway Museum and other than a Comms Officer that looks after social and newsletter etc that's basically it - just me and him for digital things.

I am part of a National Team though - the Science Museum group - and we have 3 web site managers (looking after their own museum site) - plus access to one front end designer, one developer, and one project manager.

However, this thread has really made me realise how far we have got to go on digital - in terms of resources at the very least.

Best

At Southbank Centre we have two teams responsible for digital.
I manage the Digital Solutions Team which sits in the Digital and Technology department.

The team consists two functions:

a core strategic team
Digital transformation project manager
Digital development manager
Digital design lead

and a website team responsible for day to day running of our website Website manager Website producers x2 Website assistant

There are a couple freelancers working on delivering specific projects a digital project manager and a developer.

We in the process of recruiting 2 more producers. A website producer and a digital display producer.

I have a colleague who heads up the other team of 3 leading on our digital artistic programme, sitting in Artistic Programming. This team includes responsibility for social media. That's a head of dept, producer and a social lead.
