I've just had a look and used my home address for the search point – Whilst there's some obvious stuff, mined from fairly easily accessed sources (a lot of finds – from PAS?), there's also a load of rubbish there as well.  Hopefully it is so poor that the M-D users ignore it ...

Hi all,

Today (having read an article in ‘The Searcher’ I discovered the existence of a website called ARCHI-UK.  http://www.digital-documents.co.uk/  Has anyone else seen this?!  Where is it getting its information?  It says it used a long list of journals.

To quote, “The database was initially constructed to address the lack of easily available information relating to the distrubution of archaeological sites. This was particularly evident during my time as a student of archaeology at Birkbeck College, University of London, UK.

Confused!

Presumably it’s mainly used by metal detectorists to find where they should detect, and they pay money to subscribe.  You can’t see any details unless you subscribe…

The mind boggles.
