Hi all,

I’m sure some of you have heard, but we’re having to put our charges up on 1st Jan.  I am copying the letter we sent out below.  More cheerfully, I have just started tweeting pictures of angels that were taken during ‘Project Gargoyle’ here in Leicestershire.  Today’s (the first) is linked to here: https://twitter.com/fieryfredgater/status/413989873247191041/photo/1

Hope you all have a good Christmas,

Dear Sir or Madam,

Re: Commercial charge increase for the Historic Environment Record

As you may be aware, we have not increased our charges for over five years.  As of 1st January 2014, we are implementing a new charging scheme across the Historic & Natural Environment Team.

Remote searches

First hour or part of £150 + VAT
Subsequent hour or part of £100 + VAT

(The HER information request form lists the information we can send as part of a search – it is available online here http://www.leics.gov.uk/historic_environment_record.)

Visiting the HER

½ day desk charge £60 + VAT
Full day desk charge £120 + VAT

(Visits to examine paper records, reports, etc., includes reasonable quantities of photocopying/scanning.  Does not include HER searches, which would be subject to the hourly search rate.)

Please do feel free to query the HER officer if you are unsure about how much your search would cost ([log in to unmask]).

Yours faithfully,

Graham Walley

Historic & Natural Environment Team Leader
