International data in the UK Data Service

Wednesday 15 January 2014, 2-3pm

Location: Online

The UK Data Service is holding a webinar on the structure, content and research potential of the international databases accessible through the service.

The UK Data Service is a comprehensive resource funded by the ESRC to support researchers, teachers and policymakers who depend on high-quality social and economic data.  Here you will find a single point of access to a wide range of secondary data including large-scale government surveys, business micro-data, qualitative studies and census datasets.

We also provide online access to the major databanks produced by international governmental organisations such as the World Bank, IMF, OECD and United Nations and these databanks are the focus of this webinar.

This 45 minute webinar provides an overview of the structure, content and research potential of the international databases you can access through the service and demonstrates the web interfaces used to explore, subset and download the data.

The webinar will be led by Celia Russell and Richard Wiseman of the University of Manchester.
