Hi Leigh,

You could try one of the following academic journals:

Magic, Ritual and Witchcraft (Claire Fanger and Richard Kieckheffer, eds)
Aries: Journal for the Study of Western Esotericism (Peter J. Forshaw, ed.)
Pomegranate: The International Journal of Pagan Studies (Chas Clifton, ed.)
Preternature: Critical and Historical Studies on the Preternatural (Kristen C. Uszkalo, ed.)

Or perhaps the Fortean Times might be a good place for you to send this one, although they don't like "lengthy". Google will give you the websites with all the usual submission guidelines.

Hope this helps.

All the best,

Leo

Thanks Amy

The publisher is IBIS Press, Florida. While not a book necessarily intended for academics, it's written in a scholarly fashion.

best
Leigh

Hi Leigh,

Unfortunately, JASM is no longer an active journal. Is this an academic book under review?

Best,
Amy

Hi all

I'm afraid I've lost track of whether the Journal for the SASM is still being published.

I have just completed a lengthy review of Peter Levenda's new book The Dark Lord: H.P. Lovecraft, Kenneth Grant and the Typhonian Tradition in Magic which would be suitable for the journal is it's still current. Could someone tell me to whom to direct it?

If the SASM journal has ceased, what suggestions are there for other magical/pagan academic journals which might be interested in this review?

many thanks
